Dear Collectors,
While I use photography as a medium, I am end up being like a butcher, selling slices of my own inner world to you, rather than the real world. Or, I simply use my lens to capture scenes that exist in reality before my eyes and then process them digitally, but the photographed and captured objects are merely "catalysts," and I always put effort into figuring out how to bring out a world from the motif. Of these, the one I cherish the most is the existence of "dreams." This includes not only good dreams but also nightmares. I sometimes think that these dreams are stored somewhere in the brain, in a sort of archive. They are slowly replayed as "memories" in response to occasional scenes that I happen to see. when I was a child, caught a cold and had a high fever. For example it was a dream in which I was walking along something like a tall, thin wall and for some reason lost my footing and fell, or I was being relentlessly pursued by a mysterious creature. Yes, many of these memories are from over half a century ago. I don't remember each one in detail, but the unpleasant sound beyond the audible range and the scene before my eyes trigger a reunion with them. I am by no means a fan of the occult, but it is fun to think that the source of my own creativity is built on an accumulation of such past dreams. I strongly feel that in order to gently accept these "feelings" that arise and interpret them into "pictures" in the form of images, it takes a strong will and a positive attitude to "translate" them. Thankfully, the fountain of my creativity continues to flow, albeit in small amounts, without drying up. It is my earnest hope that I can somehow share these with you all.
