Dear collectors,
This work was photographed in October 2019 and first Photogravure was printed in June 2024. Currently, I shoot entirely with digital equipment, but back then I used 4x5 format analog equipment. Looking back, the printing process was quite complicated. A wooden camera mounted on a tripod was used to take pictures on 4 to 6 sheets of film, which were then developed in a large tank. Finally, these images were scanned and converted into digital data. Back then, I would carry heavy equipment and sometimes even ride my bicycle to go out shooting. (Sometimes even as far as Oregon!) That method had many failures, but when it worked, it was possible to create works with wonderful tonal gradations. I have an attachment to the works I create now using only digital equipment, but that method from back then was special. I'm not a nostalgic person, but sometimes I miss the smooth tonal gradations that only analog can offer. I no longer have those of equipment or developing tanks, but there are times when I want to reprint the data I created with them. It might be similar to a classical pianist revisiting a piece they played long ago and playing it again with renewed feeling. I wonder how I've changed since I created this photogravure with this data two years ago?

This time I used Platinum paper from Revere, an Italian company. This is the paper I used to love five years ago when I was doing PD/Pt printing. This is a premium paper optimized for platinum printing. Its fine texture and beautiful pure white base further enhance the beauty of my work.
